Bio

I have loved creating and appreciating art since I can remember. I have explored a number of medias and always return to metalwork. It must be a passion! I received my degree in 1980 in jewelry/metalwork from UGA. I love the versatility of the media and the limitless techniques of creating with it. My inspiration comes from all of aspects of life - joy, sorrow, nature, animals, dreams, etc. Art emotes feelings and I hope mine makes people happy.

I'm a fabricator working directly with sheet and wire. I work primarily with sterling silver, occasionally with 14K gold, copper and bronze. I utilize many aspects of metalwork-raising, forging, piercing, forming, chasing, appliqué and more. Combining different metals is referred to as 'married' metal. The media (metal) is limitless which is one of the reasons why I love it!

The metalfoil pictures I believe are unique. I love the luminosity of the foils and have found combining them with paint, papers, and fabric create a striking image. I have always enjoyed drawing and these pictures give me the pleasure of working on a larger scale.
