Bio I'm a fabricator working directly with sheet and wire. I work primarily with sterling silver, occasionally with 14K gold, copper and bronze. I utilize many aspects of metalwork-raising, forging, piercing, forming, chasing, appliqué and more. Combining different metals is referred to as 'married' metal. The media (metal) is limitless which is one of the reasons why I love it! The metalfoil pictures I believe are unique. I love the luminosity of the foils and have found combining them with paint, papers, and fabric create a striking image. I have always enjoyed drawing and these pictures give me the pleasure of working on a larger scale. 1979-85 - Jeweler/Designer at Aurum Studios, Ltd., Athens, Georgia 1983-present - Exhibiting in East Coast juried craft shows Exhibitions & Awards Holloware - Tower Fine Arts Gallery, Brockport, NY Contmeporary Metals USA II - Downey Museum of Art, Downey CA Wichita National - Wichita Art Association, Wichita KS Artwest Open Exhibition - Artwest Gallery, Jackson, WY 2nd Juried Exhibition of NC Crafts - NC Museum, of History, Raleigh, NC Fall Juried Exhibition - Waterworks Gallery, Salisbury, NC National Exhibition - LaGrange College, LaGrange, GA Southeast Craft Competition - LeMoyne Art Center, Tallahassee, FL 8th Annual Juried Exhibition - Lyndon House, Athens, GA 'Working Hands' - Invitational Exhibition, Waterworks Gallery, Salisbury, NC Local galleries Liquid Amber- Pittsboro, NC Cocoon Gallery- Apex, NC NC Crafts Gallery, Carrboro, NC ©2018 Darcy Szeremi |
